3D scan of Sasspol caves

Little is known about the half-a-dozen caves above Sasspol. The art and iconography indicate that they must be placed in the 15th-16th century, and that they were once inhabited by a number of monks, presumably engaged in meditation. They were abandoned when the caves started to collapse - these caves were not carved out of solid rock, but out of an unstable moraine that melts away with every rain. Only one cave is well-preserved; another one that also has an adjacent residential residential room is partly collapsed, and the paintings have been retouched at one stage. Scans of these two are below. Two more caves are badly collapsed but still contain fragments of paintings.
