In June 2015, THF/LOTI organized a public discussion about "The Future of Leh Old Town". This public discussion provided an occasion for the general public and especially for the house owners, residents, concerned people and experts to find a direction toward the future of the heritage of the Leh old town. H.E. Thuksey Rinpoche was the chief guest of this occasion. The following guest speakers; Padmashree Murup Namgyel, Dr. Mohd Deen, Rev. Konchok Phanday, Mr. Yutaka Hirako, Ms. Stanzin Dolkar. Concerned individuals, experts, NGOs, associations and house owners and residents of the old town were invited to take part in the open discussion.
In the end of the discussion, H.E. Thuksey Rimpoche concluded by emphasizing the importance of preserving Ladakh's cultural heritage and the duty of every Ladakhi to think well, discuss well and preserve well the precious but rapidly disappearing heritage of Ladakh.
