THF Ladakh Project continues
Posted by Andre on 28 Feb 2010 at 10:31 AM
The THF Ladakh team (Andreas, Lala, André, John Niewoehner and the Erfurt conservation group Anke, Jovana and Rebekka) has arrived in Leh to continue the work with the local LOTI team (Konchok, Dolker, Diskit) on the Leh Old Town Conservation Project.
Planned for this year are further infrastructure improvements in the old town, conservation of mural paintings in the Red Maitreya Temple (north wall), conservation of a 17th century mosque and work on residential buildings. Two Ladakhis from our mural conservation training program will travel to Germany for a two-month study at Erfurt University of Applied Sciences. To celebrate arrivals and departures we held a party in the Sankar house with the Ladakhi artisans and residents of the old town.
