On August 5, Ladakh was hit by mudslides and flashfloods triggered by a cloudburst. Affected were lower Leh, Choklamsar, Sabu, Shey, Basgo, Nyemo, Skorbuchen, Dhar Hanu and other villages, causing untold destruction and so far about 200 confirmed deaths. THF is helping to prevent collapse of buildings in Leh, and plans to assist rebuilding and flood prevention if funds can be raised.
