The children of Jianzha in the Serkhang Yul-lha Lhakhang (Larencuo). The people from eight Tibetan villages around Serkhang monastery (gser rkang) in Jentsa county (gTsan dza rdzong), Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Qinghai have supported a two-week prayerfestival. Monks from surrounding monasteries and mountain hermitages have come to lead daily prayers. You can see a few short video clips about the event here:
Villagers lighting butter lamps at the Yul-lha Lhakhang (temple of the local area deity).
A tradition we have so far seen only here: when the monks and lamas leave the monastery, the villagers line up and sing beautiful prayer songs.
