The Lhasa Atlas, Serindia, 2001
After the LAP research project was introduced at the Seventh Tibetan Studies Seminar, the University of Trondheim, planning a research project about the Barkor area, invited LAP to cooperate after learning that LAP had already created an inventory of Lhasa's old buildings. Several years later, some of the results from this cooperation were finally published in the form of an Atlas, regrettably without proper credit for LAP photos, maps and research texts used. Curiously, a book about traditional townscape of Lhasa fails to mention the 76 historic residential buildings listed as protected buildings in 1998. Instead of using field research and first hand sources, the descriptions of sites and proposed datings offered rely heavily on Victor Chan's Tibet Handbook and the less well-known Chinese Inventory of Historic Monuments in Lhasa, only adding rather unreliable new information. Some of the descriptions seem fictional. The survey drawings shown were not conducted on behalf of the Atlas project but taken from other publications which are not properly named.

THF presented its project at the Beijing Seminar on Urban Development 1998 hosted by the German Goethe Institute at the Foreign Language University, at a UNESCO conference on historic cities in North-East Asia in Shanghai 1999, at the international conference about Conservation and Development co-hosted by the Yunnan Province government in Kunming 1999. And IATS Graz 1995, Bloomington 1998 and Leiden 2000.
THF also received a finalist award in the 2002 World Bank competition for innovative projects.
